About Us
Dumiviwe Pyschosocial Services offers a broad spectrum of expert psychological and educational services to children, adolescents, students, and families with the aim of enhancing their psychological fitness to manage personal life challenges, increase productivity and to optimize their performance.
DPS offers
Personal Counselling
Focuses on areas such as relationship difficulties, burnout, stress or work-related concerns, anxiety, depression, bereavement counselling and dealingwith loss.
Psycho-therapy
Short and long-term psycho-therapeutic services for children, adolescents, parents, individuals, couples and families. Children and adults are assisted with behavioural attention, scholastic or concentration difficulties.
Psychological, Cognitive and Educational Assessment
Children and adult educational assessments for Medico-legal purposes and support of placement in special schools. We offer assessment of intelligence, learning development, attention and emotional or behavioural difficulties.
Career Assessment and Counselling
Grade 9 learners are assisted with subject choices for Grades 10-12. Learners are also assisted with career choices and career-related decisions. Assessments are used to provide greater clarity about individual’s potential, interests, values and work-related personality characteristics
Trauma Debriefing and Counselling
Counselling is offered to victims of traumatic experiences such as armed robbery, hijacking, physical and sexual assault. Services can be provided at very short notice after reporting of traumatic event.
Trainings and Workshops
Psycho-legal services training. Structured pre-selected developmental and interactive engagements for: Schools, Universities, Private companies, Government departments, NGOs, Church/Faith-based organizations.
